Maori Meeting House Entrance Silhouette

Deep indigo twilight washes over a ribbed concrete lobby near Mount Victoria, Wellington. A carved Maori meeting house entrance stands as a stark, dark silhouette against the fading blue light. The intricate patterns of the bargeboards and posts lose their color, becoming sharp black shapes against the heavy overcast sky. Concrete ribs arch overhead, their texture rough and gray, framing the wooden structure. The Dutch angle tilt gives the space a dynamic, slightly off-kilter perspective. Late summer air hangs heavy, visible only in the density of the clouds. at the edge is the jagged edge of a carved koru resting against the gray concrete arch.
