Low golden sunlight cuts across the polished concrete floor of a restored train terminal near Auckland, illuminating the intricate carved wood of a Maori meeting house entrance. Long, sharp shadows stretch from the deep grooves of the koru patterns along the bold, dark timber door frame. Late autumn light falls through the high glass roof, revealing clear skies above the station's steel beams. These converging lines guide toward the ornate threshold where the wild, untamed energy of the carvings meets the structured architecture. Dust particles float in the sunbeams near the entrance, while one carved figure rests its hand on the door lintel, its surface catching the final rays of daylight.
