Luminous Sea Pen Colony Norway Midnight Sun in in Norway

Luminous Sea Pen Colony Norway Midnight Sun

by Herbert Workman

Amber and pale pink sea pens rise from the dark seabed, their feathery polyps extending into the water column. The horizon light from the midnight sun falls through the exceptionally clear water, casting a soft, diffused glow across the colony. Each stalk sways gently in the slow-moving current, creating rhythmic undulations in the vertical stems. The water surface above shows faint, blurred ripples where the low sun meets the waves. Deep blue shadows pool between the dense clusters of organisms, against the bright, translucent tips that catch the fading light. One polyp at the edge of the frame bends slightly, revealing the fine, hair-like texture of its surface against the dark background.
