Sea Pen Colony in Kelp Forest Near Haifa

Soft, diffused sunlight falls through the upper layers of an early summer kelp forest near Haifa, illuminating a dense cluster of sea pens swaying in the deep current. The vibrant orange and pink hues of the colonial organisms contrast sharply against the muted teal water, which is thick with a fine plankton haze that softens the distant background. Long, ribbon-like kelp fronds rise vertically, their translucent surfaces catching the pale morning light. The camera angle sits low, looking up through the underwater canopy, showing the verticality of the marine life. Individual polyps on the sea pens stand rigid yet flexible, anchored in the sandy seabed while the surrounding water remains in a state of gentle, fluid motion.
