Clownfish in Copper Dusk Light in along a coral wall with blue water beyond near Stone Town

Clownfish in Copper Dusk Light

by Nancy Jordan

Copper-toned sunlight falls through the water column, illuminating a clownfish positioned near a textured coral wall. The fish faces away, its orange and white bands glowing against the deepening cobalt blue of the open ocean. Fine suspended particles glitter in the current, catching the fading light like scattered dust motes. The coral surface displays rough, organic ridges in shades of brown and tan, against the smooth, streamlined body of the fish. Beyond the wall, the water transitions from warm amber near the surface to a dense, still blue in the shadows. One ray of light reflects off the fish's eye, marking the boundary between the illuminated foreground and the darkening depth.
