Harpy Eagle Holds Sloth in Rainy Dawn Mist
Gray mist hangs heavy over the rainforest near Medan as steady rain falls from the dark sky. A massive Harpy Eagle stands in the foreground, its slate-gray plumage soaked and clumped with water. The bird grips a small sloth tightly in its talons, the prey's matted fur dripping against the eagle's sharp, curved claws. Droplets slide down the eagle's chest feathers, catching the pale, diffused light of nautical dawn. Wet leaves surround the predator, their saturated green surfaces reflecting the low light. Rain streaks across the frame, blurring the distant jungle canopy while the eagle's alert gaze fixes forward. Water runs down the side of the bird's beak, pooling slightly on the feather shafts at the edge of its wing.
