Harpy Eagle Perched Tidal Inlet Before Sunrise

Soft overcast light washes the scene in a cool, even gray before sunrise near Asuncion. A massive harpy eagle rests on a thick, moss-covered branch extending over a calm tidal inlet. The bird's slate-gray wings fold tightly against its body, against the ruffled white feathers on its chest and the sharp, dark curve of its hooked beak. Low-hanging clouds blur the horizon where the water meets the distant bank. The water below reflects the pale sky, creating a mirror surface broken only by the subtle ripple of the tide. Wet bark glistens under the diffused glow, and the eagle's yellow talons grip the rough texture of the wood with unyielding precision.
