Hawk Circling Over Reed Bed Alleppey Rain

Dark rain streaks slice through the soft, diffused light of a late afternoon sky above the wet reed beds near Alleppey. A hawk glides in a wide, slow circle against a backdrop of heavy grey clouds. The tall green reeds bow under the weight of steady rain, their tips glistening with water droplets that rest on the blades. The bird's brown and white feathers appear slightly ruffled by the damp air as it scans the water below. Mud and shallow water reflect the muted sky, creating a seamless horizon where the marsh meets the grey. Raindrops ripple across the surface of the pool in the foreground, breaking the stillness with tiny, expanding rings. The hawk's sharp talons remain tucked close to its body, ready to strike.
