Gustnado Swirling Through Marine Fog at Dawn
Pale morning light cuts through low marine fog hovering over the highlands near Mbabane. A narrow, vertical gustnado spirals downward from the cloud base, its debris column distinct against the deep shadow of the valley floor. Sea spray hangs suspended in the air, catching the weak rim light to create a fine, shimmering mist around the vortex. The ground below is a patchwork of dark, damp earth and dormant winter grass, rendered in muted browns and greys. The swirling dust and leaves form a tight, chaotic column that contrasts sharply with the soft, diffused fog surrounding it. At the vortex base, the texture of the churned soil is visible, marking the point where the wind meets the solid ground.
