Dissipating Waterspout Over Mauritania Bay at Twilight

Deep indigo shadows swallow the foreground of the Mauritanian bay while a fading waterspout hangs suspended against the bruised twilight sky. The vortex structure has thinned into wisps of gray mist, its base barely touching the choppy, dark water surface. A sharp rim of pale violet light outlines the remaining column, separating it from the heavy, humid air that rests on the horizon. The water reflects the faint glow of the last sunset, creating a metallic sheen on the ripples. Dark clouds gather low on the left, pressing against the fading vertical line of the storm. The edge of the dissipated funnel breaks into scattered droplets that vanish into the damp air before reaching the sea.
