Advection Fog Rolling Over Sardinia Winter Ocean in over a horizon of stacked thunderheads in Sardinia

Advection Fog Rolling Over Sardinia Winter Ocean

by Sakura Zuniga

Thick bands of advection fog stretch across the dark surface of the Mediterranean, moving steadily toward the Sardinian coast. The water appears cold and heavy, reflecting the fading amber light of late winter sunset. Behind the rolling mist, a wall of stacked thunderheads rises sharply against a perfectly clear upper sky, their bases dark and imposing. The fog creates a soft, gray silhouette that separates the turbulent sea from the distant horizon. Golden light spills over the tops of the storm clouds, illuminating their edges while the ocean below remains in deep shadow. One wave crest breaks in the foreground, its white foam catching the last rays of the sun before vanishing into the gray haze.
