Golden Hour Fjord Rain in Cappadocia

by Glen Rutledge

Steep, wind-carved rock walls rise vertically from a narrow waterway, their surfaces etched with deep vertical grooves characteristic of Cappadocia's volcanic tuff. Rain falls in steady, visible streaks across the frame, turning the stone a darker, saturated gray where wet. Golden light from the setting sun strikes the upper ridges, creating a warm, fiery glow that contrasts sharply with the cool, misty shadows clinging to the lower canyon depths. Layers of rock formations recede into the distance, fading from sharp, textured brown to soft, hazy blue silhouettes. The water surface ripples constantly under the impact of the rain, reflecting the amber sky above while the heavy droplets disturb the reflection of the cliffs.
