Stormy Sea Stack at Durban Sunset

A dark, weathered sea stack rises from churning gray water near the Durban coastline. The horizon glows with the final intensity of sunset, casting a warm, golden reflection across the rolling waves. Low-hanging clouds drape the sky in heavy, textured layers, their undersides illuminated by the setting sun. The dry season leaves the coastal rocks exposed and stark against the turbulent ocean. Water sprays in fine mist around the base of the rock, catching the light as it crashes against the stone. A small patch of green vegetation rests on the upper ledge of the stack. The composition remains wide and empty, showing the isolation of the rock against the vast, moving sea. A sharp shadow stretches across the wet foreground sand.
