Goby on Brain Coral Lip in Denpasar Twilight

Pale orange and white stripes mark the slender body of a goby resting on the rough, maze-like surface of a brain coral. The coral forms a textured ledge along a vertical reef wall, its crevices holding shadows that deepen as the sun dips below the horizon. Behind the fish, the water transitions from a teal near the reef to a deep indigo in the distance. Tiny suspended particles float in the water column, catching the fading golden light and creating a field of glittering specks. The fish remains motionless, its fins tucked tight against its sides, while the coral surface displays a mix of smooth rounded lobes and jagged ridges. A faint reflection of the fish's underbelly appears on the wet, undulating surface of the coral just below its belly.
