Soft, overcast light falls through the water column, illuminating suspended particles that glitter like scattered dust motes against a deep blue backdrop. A small goby rests motionless on the textured, brain-like ridges of a coral formation jutting from a volcanic reef overhang. The coral surface displays intricate grooves in shades of olive and muted brown, against the fish's translucent scales. Fine silt settles on the stone edges of the reef, while the shallow depth of field blurs the distant volcanic rock into a smooth, indistinct wall. The water remains perfectly still, holding the scene in a quiet, suspended moment of dawn.
