Giant Winter Mushrooms on Mongolian Construction Site

Cold dawn light spills over wet concrete and steel scaffolding along a Mongolian facade. The ground remains damp and gray under low-hanging winter clouds. A stack of heavy concrete blankets sits near the base of the structure. Among ordinary construction debris, massive mushrooms with umbrella-sized caps erupt from the earth. Their thick, pale stems rise abruptly from the frost-dusted soil. The caps display a rough, porous texture that catches the faint morning glow. A rusted metal pipe lies nearby, its surface slick with condensation. The impossible fungi cast sharp shadows against the rough concrete, at the base of the surreal growth in the practical urgency of the site. One red safety vest hangs from a scaffold rung above the mushroom cluster.
