Copper-toned light washes over a resort golf cart parked beneath a porte cochere near Phnom Penh. Luggage stacks neatly along the vehicle's side, reflecting the firelight warmth of the dry season dusk. The pavement is ordinary concrete, but strange, massive mushrooms the size of umbrellas erupt from the ground among the suitcases and tires. Their caps spread wide in deep ochre and rust hues, casting soft, diffuse shadows that align with the low sun. A perfectly clear sky arches overhead, devoid of clouds, enhancing the surreal scale of the fungal growth. The luggage rests on a surface where the mushroom stems rise thick and textured, creating a jarring yet spatially coherent mix of hospitality service and impossible nature. The final shadow of a mushroom cap falls sharply across a gold-colored suitcase handle.
