Rain Through Missing Roof in Guilin Ruin

Indigo twilight deepens the shadows within a crumbling courtyard where the roof has entirely collapsed. Vertical shafts of rain fall unimpeded, striking a shallow pool of water that reflects the fading sky in sheets of liquid silver. Toppled stone columns lie scattered among clusters of green nettles, their weathered surfaces rough and pitted by time. The ground is a mix of dark earth and wet stone, glistening under the clear, cloudless sky above. Raindrops ripple outward in perfect concentric circles where they meet the water's surface. A jagged fragment of broken masonry rests at the water's edge, its shadow stretching sharply across the wet stones.
