Caribou Grazing in Kanto Valley Twilight

by Valentina Knox

Cool blue twilight washes over a wide valley floor where patches of white cotton grass rise from damp earth. A small herd of caribou stands in the distance, their dark forms contrasting against the pale, wet ground. Rain falls in thin, translucent sheets across the landscape, creating a shimmering veil that softens the horizon. The sky holds a deep, saturated indigo, while scattered raindrops catch the fading light, turning into tiny silver needles against the darker vegetation. Mossy rocks and low shrubs dot the foreground, leading toward the grazing animals. The wet surfaces reflect the pale sky, creating a seamless transition between ground and air. One raindrop clings to a blade of grass in the immediate foreground, hanging heavy and clear.
