Caribou Stag Crossing Snow With Floating Koi

Indigo twilight washes the Lapland tundra in deep shadow, leaving only a sharp rim light tracing the silhouette of a massive caribou stag. The animal steps across a crust of snow where fine dust lifts in soft eddies. Above, a giant koi fish hangs suspended in the heavy overcast sky, its scales shimmering with iridescent orange and gold against the pale gray clouds. The fish casts a faint, distorted shadow on the snow below, anchoring the impossible scale to the ground. From a low angle near the glacial stream, the stag appears small against the floating creature. Ice crystals on the snow crust catch the dim light, creating a fragile, quiet texture beneath the floating scale.
