Frost rests on the dark fabric covering a large telescope mirror, glistening under the fading blue light of early spring twilight. A gloved hand reaches into the frame, brushing away a dusting of white snow that has settled on the protective cover. The fabric texture shows fine wrinkles and a slight sheen from the moisture. In the background, a soft orange glow from a distant Russian town illuminates the horizon, against the cold gray tones of the thawing ground.
