Astronomer Clears Snow From Telescope At Twilight

Deep blue shadows dominate the frame as twilight settles over the tidal survey transect near Oslo. A figure in heavy winter gear stands beside a large telescope, their gloved hand sweeping a thick layer of white snow from the curved black mirror cover. The polar night sky offers no sun, only a faint, cool ambient glow that catches the rim of the instrument and the subject's shoulder. Condensation beads sharply on the cold metal housings, glistening like scattered ice crystals against the dark surfaces. Vast negative space surrounds the solitary figure, showing the isolation of the equipment on the flat, snow-dusted ground. One bead of moisture slides slowly down the vertical edge of the metal casing, catching the faint light before vanishing into the shadow.
