A cylindrical metal housing stands centered in a symmetrical frame, its lower half submerged in thick, granular rime ice. Windblown snow drifts across the foreground, forming textured ridges that meet the structure's base. The scene glows under the deep, saturated red of an observatory safety light, casting long, sharp shadows from the equipment's vents and bolts. Salt spray has frozen onto the exposed gauges, creating a crystalline texture that contrasts with the smooth, curved metal. The endless summer light of the region suggests a low, flat horizon line, while the red illumination highlights the rough, jagged edges of the ice crystals clinging to the housing. One bolt on the side reflects the red glow against the white frost.
