Abandoned Pumping Station Norway Canal in along a vine-choked corridor in Norway

Abandoned Pumping Station Norway Canal

by Jose Holland

Bright late morning light floods the interior of a derelict pumping station in Norway, where the midnight sun keeps shadows shallow and distinct. Green canal water sits motionless outside, reflecting the pale sky through broken openings. Thick vines choke the stone corridors, their leaves pressing against cracked concrete walls and rusted metal beams. Wind moves unseen through the empty rooms, rippling the heavy curtains of vegetation that hang from the ceiling. The floor is littered with debris and peeling paint, while the stillness of the water contrasts with the aggressive growth reclaiming the structure. One patch of sunlight illuminates a rusted gear wheel resting on the wet ground.
