Norwegian Canal Lock Gate Twilight Blue Hour
Steel-blue ambient light washes over a massive concrete canal lock chamber in Norway during the brief arctic summer. A heavy iron gate stands closed, its vertical ribs and hydraulic pistons rendered in sharp, cool detail. Wet concrete surfaces reflect the fading sky, while fine spray and mist hover just above the waterline, caught in the stillness of twilight. Rust-colored warning rails run parallel to the gate, their paint chipped and weathered by salt and time.
