Rime Ice Weather Station on Thimphu Ridge at Sunset

Thick, opaque fog fills the lower third of the frame with a perfectly straight, knife-sharp upper edge that cuts across the scene. Above this impossible boundary, a wind-cut ridge holds a weather station encrusted in thick rime ice. The metal instruments and wooden supports glow in the intense orange light of the setting sun, casting long, stark shadows against the frost-covered ground. Colorful prayer flags flutter above the station, their red, blue, and yellow hues vibrant against the pale winter sky. Low-hanging clouds drift behind the equipment, but the fog below remains a solid, unmoving wall. The ice texture appears jagged and crystalline, catching the golden light at every sharp edge. One metal bracket rests against the ice, its surface reflecting the warm sunset glow.
