Iced Weather Station Mast in Arctic Summer Light
A steel weather station mast stands rigid against the pale arctic sky, its instruments and crossbeams completely encased in thick layers of white ice. Gentle snowflakes drift through the crisp, high-altitude air, settling on the frozen metal surfaces. The endless summer light casts long, soft shadows across the snow-covered ground, illuminating the texture of the rime ice that clings to every edge. Converging lines of the structure lead toward a distant vanishing point where the flat tundra meets the horizon. The scene is devoid of vegetation, showing the stark, exploratory nature of this scientific outpost near Tromsø. A jagged ice formation hangs from the lowest sensor arm, catching the bright morning sun.
