Virga Evaporating in Gabon Noon Fog

Thick marine fog blankets the landscape, diffusing the flat glare of noon into a uniform silver-white light. Below, a layer of dust hangs suspended just above the dry earth, creating a hazy floor that softens the horizon. Streaks of virga descend from the cloud base, their dark gray forms thinning rapidly as they fall. The rain evaporates completely before reaching the ground, leaving faint, ghostly trails that dissolve into the mist. The composition cuts diagonally across the frame, showing the downward motion against the stillness of the fog. Sharp contrast appears where the evaporating rain meets the denser fog bank, highlighting the texture of the moisture-laden air.
