Siberian Permafrost Ice Wedges Under Noon Mist

Thick white mist clings to a steep permafrost cliff face, softening the jagged edges of exposed ice wedges that run vertically through the earth. The scene sits under a flat, bright noon glare that washes out shadows, leaving the ice and soil in a pale, high-contrast palette of slate gray and milky white. Layers of frozen sediment stack horizontally, creating a textured wall that rises sharply from the foreground ridge. The low angle emphasizes the sheer height of the formation against a backdrop of layered foothills fading into the haze. Moisture beads on the ice surface, catching the diffuse light without forming distinct reflections. A thin strand of frost hangs from a fractured rock ledge at the bottom right corner.
