Tidal Bore Wave Silhouette Gobi Floodplain

A dark, churning wall of water surges upward against the deepening violet sky of early evening. The wave stands as a stark silhouette, its crest breaking into white foam that catches the last reflected light from the wet floodplain. Heat haze shimmers above the muddy ground, distorting the horizon line where the Gobi Desert meets the temporary river. Dry, cracked earth borders the water's edge, against the fluid motion of the bore. The light is cool and diffuse, casting long, soft shadows that stretch across the wet sand. One ripple spreads outward from the wave's base, marking the boundary between the moving water and the still, darkening desert floor.
