Seaplane Under Gobi Night Rim Light

Rim light traces the silver hull of a seaplane resting beside a weathered platform awning in the deep shadow of a Gobi Desert switchback. Early summer drizzle creates a wet sheen on the dusty ground, reflecting the pale moonlight. Thick, dark smoke falls from the engine exhaust like heavy liquid, pooling on the gravel before dripping off the edge of the frame. Distant passengers stand near the awning's shadow, small and still against the vast, dry landscape. The impossible downward flow of smoke contrasts with the upward curve of the desert ridge, at the base of the surreal moment in concrete textures of metal, water, and stone.
