Grey steel gates stretch horizontally beneath a narrow concrete walkway, their vertical lines mirrored perfectly in the churning white foam below. Early winter light cuts through low-hanging clouds, defining every rivet and structural beam without casting deep shadows. Beside the walkway, a rusted metal ladder climbs the side of a water tower, its rungs spaced at precise intervals. The water roars through the steel channels, creating a frothy texture that contrasts with the rigid, painted grey surfaces. A heavy chain hangs loosely against the gate, its links dark and wet. The symmetrical arrangement of the infrastructure creates clear industrial order against the chaotic movement of the river. A thin layer of frost dusts the top railing, marking the chill of the season.
