A steady rain coats the metal in a slick sheen, while thick white frost crystals crust the spokes and rim, marking the chill of early winter. Dark water fills the lock chamber below, reflecting the muted tones of the sky. Heavy steel chains hang loosely against the wet machinery, leading toward the center of the wheel. Raindrops bead on the textured frost, creating a sharp contrast between the organic ice formations and the cold, engineered curves of the gate. at the edge is a single droplet sliding down the frost-covered rim, leaving a clear trail on the rusted metal.
