Silhouetted Tidal Bore at Pretoria Golden Hour

Brass light floods the western sky, casting the churning river into a stark, dark silhouette. A massive wall of water surges upstream, its crest breaking into white foam that catches the fading sun. Dry, golden grasses along the riverbank whip violently in the wind, bending low against the force of the air. The water surface reflects the deep orange glow of the setting sun while the foreground remains in deep shadow. Behind the wave, the distant treeline appears as a jagged black line against the bright sky. The texture of the rushing water looks heavy and turbulent, against the fine, dry blades of grass in the immediate foreground. One droplet of spray hangs suspended on the edge of the breaking wave.
