Rusted Signal Box in Togo Early Afternoon Fog

Bright open daylight illuminates a weathered signal box standing alone in Togo, its metal levers frozen in rusted silence. Low ground fog pools in the hollows of the surrounding terrain, softening the base of the structure while the cool season air keeps the haze close to the earth. The building's paint peels in long strips, revealing layers of gray and orange oxidation beneath. Tall grasses push through cracks in the concrete foundation, their green blades against the decaying steel. Wide panoramic framing shows the scale of the ruin against the pale sky, showing the slow advance of vegetation over the abandoned machinery. A cluster of moss rests on the lower hinge of the rusted door.
