Rusted Signal Box in Roofless Hammam at Sunset

Silhouetted against a burning orange horizon, a dilapidated signal box stands within the hollow shell of a roofless hammam in New Brunswick. The sky above is a flawless, deepening blue, offering no clouds to soften the setting sun's glare. Thick rust coats the heavy iron levers, freezing them in a state of permanent silence. Vines and wild grasses spill across the stone floor, their green stems tangled with the metal framework. Layers of depth recede from the dark foreground where the box rests, past crumbling brick arches, toward the distant tree line. The warm light catches the jagged edges of broken masonry, highlighting the texture of decay. One patch of moss rests on the lower rusted hinge, marking the slow advance of nature.
