Ration Heater Box Under Camo Net at Dawn

Cold silver light falls through the coarse weave of a camouflage net, casting a muted glow on a rectangular ration heater box resting on damp earth. The box, painted in dull olive drab, sits slightly askew beneath the shelter's shadow. Fine dust coats the metal surface, settling into the creases of the fabric overhead. The surrounding ground is dry and cracked, typical of the cool season in Senegal. No smoke rises, and no steam escapes; the heater remains dormant, waiting for activation. The fabric drapes low, creating a confined space where the gray dawn light fades into the deep shadows of the netting. One metal latch on the box reflects the pale sky above.
