Dawn Fog Ladder Signal Gantry Low Angle Kigali

by Diana DeJesus

Mist clings thick to the steel framework of a signal gantry, where a rusted ladder climbs upward until it dissolves into the gray fog. The structure rises from wet tracks, its rivets and beams glistening with condensation from the wet season air. Beside it, a weathered water tower ladder mirrors the vertical ascent, both metal forms disappearing into the diffused first light. Wind whips loose debris across the gravel bed below, bending the tall grasses that fringe the railway line. The low angle emphasizes the towering height of the ironwork against the pale sky. Rust streaks run down the gray paint, marking years of exposure to the humid air. at the edge is a droplet of water sliding down a rivet head, catching the faint morning glow.
