Rain Falling Through Crumbling Roof in Chengdu Courtyard

Soft overcast light falls through the jagged gaps of a collapsed roof, illuminating a courtyard near Chunxi Road in Chengdu. Vertical streaks of rain descend through the missing structure, striking the weathered stone floor below. The dry season leaves the surrounding earth cracked and dusty, against the wet patches forming where the water lands. Cracked brick walls stand on three sides, their surfaces pitted with age and discoloration. Wooden beams lie scattered across the ground, some split by time, others still holding remnants of faded paint. Leading lines formed by the broken wall edges and fallen timber draw toward the center of the open space. A puddle at the base of a pillar reflects the gray sky and the falling raindrops.
