Predawn Viaduct Crossing Fog Valley Peru in under a viaduct of steel and concrete in Peru

Predawn Viaduct Crossing Fog Valley Peru

by Ingrid Silva

Steel and concrete pillars rise from a sea of white mist in a deep Peruvian valley. The predawn darkness holds a cool, silvery tone that reflects off the wet, dark surfaces of the infrastructure. Thick autumn clouds stack high above the structure, their edges sharp against the dim sky. Symmetrical lines of the viaduct converge toward the center, creating a powerful sense of vertical monumentality. The concrete shows rough textures where moisture rests on the gray stone. Fog fills the space between the legs of the bridge, obscuring the ground below and isolating the structure in the void. A faint highlight runs along the top rail, marking the boundary between the heavy steel and the empty air.
