Brilliant white floodlights cut through the deep night, illuminating a massive concrete viaduct that arches over a mist-choked valley in Cusco. The structure rests on a sturdy pier rising from moving water below, where spray dances upward to join the thick fog hanging just above the surface. Orange warning beacons blink rhythmically along the bridge edges, marking the span against the darkness. Early autumn air holds the moisture tight, turning the valley floor into a sea of grey clouds. Strong leading lines of the concrete roadway pull the gaze across the void, showing the monumentality of the engineering. A sharp shadow from the railing falls across the textured concrete surface at the edge of the frame.
