Lhasa Viaduct Over Fog Valley Evening Blue Light

by Rex Griffith

Concrete pillars rise in perfect symmetry across a valley filled with dense, white fog. The structure dominates the frame, its gray surfaces absorbing the last blue light of evening while edges catch a sharp rim of fading sun. Heat shimmer distorts the air above sun-struck stone, creating a wavy texture against the stillness of the mist below. Deep shadows pool within the arches, against the pale gray of the concrete. The bridge stretches horizontally, dividing the sky from the obscured ground. A maintenance walkway runs along the side, bordered by a low railing that disappears into the gloom. at the edge is the crisp line where the concrete edge meets the soft, shifting fog.
