Peccary Herd Crossing Trail in Mizoram Rain
Wet, glistening fur rests on the bodies of a peccary herd moving single-file across a muddy forest trail. Late afternoon light falls through the dense canopy, illuminating droplets that hang suspended in the air and bead on the bristly coats of the animals. The ground is churned into a soft, dark brown slurry, marked by deep hoof prints that hold small puddles of rainwater. Surrounding ferns and broad leaves display the vibrant, saturated greens typical of the wet season, their surfaces slick with moisture. The background dissolves into a soft, out-of-focus blur of vertical tree trunks and hanging vines, showing the shallow depth of field. Rain streaks are visible as faint, diagonal lines against the darker foliage, while the animals move with deliberate, steady caution through the quiet, wet understory. One droplet slides from a leaf edge and strikes the mud with a visible ripple.
