Andalusian Peccary Herd Crossing Ridge Trail
Deep shadow blankets the wind-scoured ridge as the first light of dawn attempts to break through. A herd of peccaries moves in a tight line across the dusty trail, their coarse, bristly coats catching a sharp rim of golden light along their spines. The air shimmers with heat haze, blurring the background scrub and distant stones into a wavering gray-green. Their dark, wet noses and heavy shoulders press forward against the dry earth. Dust kicks up in small clouds around their hooves, settling instantly in the stillness. The rough texture of the ridge contrasts with the sleek, wet sheen on the animals' skin where the morning dew has not yet evaporated.
