Otter Diving Tidal Inlet Diyarbakir Sunrise

A European otter plunges into the dark water of a tidal inlet near Diyarbakir just after sunrise. The animal's sleek, wet fur glows with a sharp rim of golden light against the deep shadow of the river channel. Sunlight catches the droplets flying from its streamlined body as it breaks the surface tension. The water ripples outward in concentric circles, reflecting the clear midsummer sky. The riverbank behind the otter remains in cool shadow, against the bright, alert posture of the creature. One ripple distorts the reflection of the reeds on the far bank.
