Sea Otter Diving for Urchins in Colaba Kelp Forest

Deep shadow blankets the underwater scene where a sea otter descends toward a cold-water reef edge. The animal moves through exceptionally clear water, its dark fur against the faint glow of rim light catching the edges of its form. Above, the kelp forest canopy sways slowly, creating a textured ceiling of long, green fronds that filter the dim pre-dawn illumination. Surface ripples disturb the water just enough to fracture the light into shifting patterns on the sandy bottom. The otter's paws reach toward clusters of sea urchins resting on the reef stones. Small bubbles rest on the kelp stems, and the cool blue hue of the monsoon morning water wraps around the entire environment, showing the stillness of the moment before sunrise.
