Orca Beside Rope in Fiji Kelp

Soft midday light diffuses through a plankton haze, softening the view of the kelp-fringed shelf in Fiji. A massive orca swims close to a floating rope line, its smooth black skin against the pale grey underbelly along the curve of its flank. Fine marine texture swirls around the animal's dorsal ridge as fronds of green kelp drift vertically in the stillness. The rope stretches horizontally across the frame, taut and wet, anchoring the view against the organic movement of the sea. Tiny bubbles rest on the rope's surface, marking the recent disturbance of the water. The sharp, dark eye of the orca reflects the muted sky at the edge of the frame.
