Orange Mammatus Clouds Over Great Barrier Reef Mist in in the Great Barrier Reef

Orange Mammatus Clouds Over Great Barrier Reef Mist

by Maeve Abbott

Vivid orange light saturates the undersides of bulbous mammatus clouds hanging low over the ocean. Thick, gray mist softens the horizon where the turquoise water meets the sky. Distant town lights flicker as faint points of yellow against the deepening blue twilight. The water surface remains glassy, reflecting the muted glow of the clouds above. Soft edges define the rounded cloud pouches, creating a heavy, suspended feeling in the humid air. No waves break on the surface, only the stillness of the rainy season evening. at the edge shows a sharp contrast between the glowing cloud base and the dark, shadowed water below.
