Magenta Sky Over Sea Stack Storm Coast

Deep magenta light floods the sky above a jagged sea stack rising from churning grey waters. From a high ridge near Britomart, Auckland, layered foothills stretch into the distance beneath impossible emerald-green clouds that hover low over the stormy coast. The first rays of sunrise cut through the heavy monsoon atmosphere, illuminating wet basalt surfaces with a sharp, metallic sheen. Foamy white spray crashes against the rock base, against the dark, saturated stone. Mist rests on the lower slopes of the foothills, while the impossible sky color reflects faintly on the agitated ocean surface. A final streak of white foam rests on the jagged peak of the sea stack.
