Dawn Drizzle Over Queensland Sea Cliffs and White Surf in far above river meanders in Queensland

Dawn Drizzle Over Queensland Sea Cliffs and White Surf

by Ellie Hill

Rain-slicked rock faces rise steeply from churning white foam where the ocean bites into the coastline. The first rays of sunrise paint the wet basalt in shades of charcoal and soft amber, cutting through a fine, gray drizzle that hangs low over the water. Below the cliffs, the river meanders create a patchwork of green and brown curves, visible only as a distant, textured mosaic beneath the heavy cloud cover. Water droplets bead on the jagged edges of the cliff tops, reflecting the pale morning sky. The composition places the vertical rock face along the left third, while the horizontal line of the horizon and the meandering river occupy the remaining two-thirds, establishing a clear, map-like perspective of the coastline.
